christmas in nola part 1

So far I love New Orleans. It took my friend and I 3 days to get here but we made it finally.
We got caught in the worst snowstorm of the century!!! and when I say worst I mean it! It all started on Friday December 18th... it was a normal day like any other i had lunch then i went to class. But not to my knowing there was a storm brewing..OoOoh AaAaAhhhh..(dramatic effect)so i get a call in the middle of my baking class from a women. she calls herself Barbara toledo, but i told her i didnt kno anyone by that name...but when she told me her code name "MOM" i knew who it was right away. She said she had called me for a top secret notification...i was puzzled on what it could be, she told me the government was holding out on the weather and she said there was a storm in the path of us for heading down to N.O.L.A.!! next thing i kno sirens are going off at school telling me and the school to get to our rooms and cellars casue here comes a big one.

so i pulled my partner to the side and i told him we have 2 options...either wait out the storm and lose 4 days or drive into this bitch and hold on for dear life. now if you dont know me to well...i like to do dangerous stuff...at that point we looked eachother in the eyes and said lets do it!
as we pack up the car our ladys start to run up to us...i can see from the corner of my eye the storm coming so i quickly give my girl a kiss goodbye and i tell her "babe, if i dont make it out alive i just want u to kno....ive been cheating on u" she looked at me with a glare of disbelief, i told her i have to go now as she handed me her hanky i held the rope and i gave the signal for the helicopter to pull me up.

now we've been on the road for about 5 hours and still no sign of any storm, but then all of a sudden cant see anything but white...we were driving right into the face of the shedding beast we called a blizzzard. driving 150 mph into it our vehicle starts to spin out of control as we go into a spinning vortex. next thing i kno were on the side of the road facing traffic in our lane. as i start to call headquarters i realize now we shouldnt be driving in this condition so agent MOM finds a place where we can post p our black asses for the night. the next morning we look out the window and all we see is white, then i pull the curtain away and now i see white with cars in it...it was terrible out, so we decided to drive lol it took us 5 hours to drive 100 miles, at that point we knew we could possible die so we got another room.

now its sunday morning a the snow stopped, but one prob we got no shovel, so i pull out of my pocket a blow-dryer and start to melt the snow little by little. so were on the road again and the conditions are much better as we look left and right as we drive we see what this bitch of a storm did to the victims that were caught in her....cars were buried 10 feet 2 in in snow, as i sent out my prayers i just lifted my head and knew it was smooth sailing from there.

so after 3 days of tortuous conditions and a hotdog we have finally made it to New Orleans!! and i must say what a city indeed, the history the people the culture, its all so fascinating. now its Christmas morning and there is only one more thing left to do, spend new years on bourbon street!!! thats gonna be part 2 of the adventure!.....so as i leave yall tonight, merry chistmas to all and to all a good night~

Not Thanksgiving....

So 2 days ago i got sick....and i had to tell my mom. well because of me being sick my mother wont let me come home. so yesterday she brought me soups meds and money....its just not the same i want a nice warm meal and family to be with for this...i want my own bed and i wanna see my baby Constantine. I miss my friends =(

the new life

well if u havent heard yet im back at school and i love it!
there is nothing i want more but to be here.
there is this one girl here and i had fall madly in love with her and the last couple of
days she was in the hospital cause she got into a car accident. well now i was told last night that were done. im crushed right now.
your all that i think about but my school is what i should be thinking about but its hard when u get this gut feeling like u miss the person even though there not dead there just still not with u. i kno ive messed up in the past..and pulled some shit that u dont deserve...but i kno this isnt wut u wanna hear but im ready now. and i kno i should have been ready before.....i wanna grow old with you

My last few weeks in Florida!!

So my time here has been amazing and i wouldn't trade it for the world. I won competitions build huge slip and slides on the beach that dont really work well hah..another story for another time, and used a dish washer for the first time!

So the plantation has this mystery box thing where they give you three items and u have to make a meal with it...4 apps 4 salads 4 entrees. its too much to write about but in the long run ....i kicked ass!! then i found out theres more, i could continue to other rounds to win big bucks and a fully furnished kitchen...that would have been amazing....so needless to say i went on to where i am now in Disney for the Florida state cook off... i lost last night but it was amazing...like there was at least 300 to 400 people watching me cook and tasting my food and asking me tons of questions. i love to sing when i cook so that also brought people to my station. but today im going to spend it in Disney and just relax and have fun...i will write more about it when i finish my stay.

We had an idea, we thought it would be cool to build a slip n slide on the beach into the ocean...so we started at 9 in the morning and finished it around 12 noon. We didn't have any shovels or tools we had our hands and pitcher to put water in...somewhere along the way a guy asked if we wanted to use his shovel so we did...i tell u now it was fun but i totally forgot about the tide change so when we built it half was in the water the other half was out...than low tide none was in the water lol and sand was all in it...it hurts to slide on sand!

Last story...the magic of the foam!!
So i have never used a dish washer in my life and i saw that i had one in my house..now if you know me and my lazy self of coarse im gonna use it. So i loaded it up and i put in the soap tablet...than i put in this bleach soap...than i put in hand soap...than i put in washing machine soap, i guess i was hoping that with all the soap it would make it extra clean. life doesnt work like that i set it and walked away from it for like a good hour. i come back out to check it and there is foam all over my kitchen floor and it would not stop either it just kept coming... i have pics but im to lazy to upload them that ill do it later, and when i say later i mean prob not till i get home to ny!

Why bother?

So i don't even know why i even check the weather anymore...i look at it every morning before work..and it always says its gonna rain...always..heres my zip code...ill let u check it too 32034. it always says thunderstorms...they make u believe that Florida has the worst weather..i see their plot to get tourist not to come here...smart but im catching on weather man..

work

So i love the Falcons nest and the last couple of days me and my chef have been having prank wars... the first night he put ham on my bike so that the animals would come to me......so i seran wrapped his car!!! Next he places my knife in a bucket of water and froze it....the next day i walk in and im like where is my knife.....now the best part of this whole story was....while he was laughing at my knife, he left all his knives in his other car so while my knife was defrosting we couldnt do any prep work!!!

It is my last week at the nest and i will miss it alot but before i give them a final depart were having a party with all the cooks and wait staff..so im pretty excited for that

My Birthday....part 1

So if you all don't know yet, my birthday is next sunday and of coarse im going to disney 4 free. I get to see my brother who i never see and our blog stories will only grow more and more!! i have many stories to tell ones that my brother doesn't even have up on his blog.

The next post i wanna have is honoring the best of the best of my 20 years of being alive!!! But that wont happen till i come back from disney.

Chef what?

So i see my brother anthony has reciepes of foods that he's made....don't follow them remember geeks can't cook only fat people can like me. Heres some foods that ive made in my Culinary career.


this first one is a dill cream cheese wrapped with a smoked salmon with reduced basalmic vinigurette and oil



this second one is a vegan salad with heart of palm and ardichoke filled with roasted red pepper and braised beet hearts



this is a cream of roasted tomatoe soup with a rosemary cream sauce on top

Now i like to make my presentation as good as i can, because if the presentation isnt good people work have the guts to try the food.


now im slowly getting into desserts this is a orange creme brulee and you've all have seen the frazzle
im not really sure why i chose the culinary career but i say i don't love it. I know my mom was a huge influence in it and i love cooking for her and with her. Im not gonna lie i've never been this far from my mother and i do miss her....ok im off to work. pc

The new tattoo

So if your a follower of my brothers blog you'll see that he has a picture of my first tattoo... well now theres more i got a new one on my ribs...not a smart place to put it but i do like it.




This is only part one, i still have to go back for the shadding and the coloring but i wanna know what people think of it!

Worried = (

So today as i was clocking out of work.. a raccoon can out of the bush and bit my leg. Its not bad its like a tooth punched through nothing serious.... i put iodine on it and hydrogen peroxide and cleaned it very well. Comments what would you do if this happened to you?

so last night i got sent tot he ER and i got my rabbi shots....not fun. hurt like hell





my friend lee was there the whole time so i could hold his hand = )




this is what i believe....well my brother anthony says hes just below god..so i think he told god to sick the raccoon on me so i was forced to get rabbi shots so that my birthday can be shitty. Well its not gonna work ill just have to celebrate it in pain lol

Amelia Island Plantation

So right now im on my externship from school. Im working at the Amelia Island Plantation....at the falcon's nest. It's a bar....thats all i can say for myself lol. I work.. a lot and i sleep a lot too and i eat a lot also!! Its fun there we have three peole working the line the head chef Mike, Justin and me. I'm in charge of all apps, all desserts and all fryed stuff. I also make the specials everynight and I was also the first extern to ever make an item so good that they put it on the menu!!



I call it the "Frazzle". It's a dep fried brownie, filled with rasberry sauce over vanilla icecream!!!






I've been working at the Falcon's nest for 5 weeks now and i love it there... im thinking that wen i graduate i may wanna come back to work at the plantation. Another cool thing about being on my own...is no mother yelling at me to clean up my mess or ray saying " look at him he just lies around, get up and do somthing lazy" this is the life. I try to go to the beach everyday i'm only a mile from it so i either walk or ride my bike! The island is small but it has everything i need here so i dont mind it.

My nickname here on the island is city, because im from ny lol its funny cause i answer to it. Theres this one kid lee i chill with every night..but enough with the boring stuff... im much cooler than that!

My First Blog

So I'm not really sure what to write but my brother...the prince wants me to start a blog about my life as a chef. My life starts out when i was born...as far as i can remember i have always loved cooking even as a baby i knew i would become a chef!To where i am now i am the C.I.A graduate to be!!!This is just the first of many blogs....ant bring it on...let the blogging commence!!
